This painting was completed in 2 sessions, separated by several months. I actually thought she was finished the first time I stopped. Like many stories, this beauty’s begins with a female worker’s quintessential plight in corporate, having to balance ambitious goals and expectations, while navigating the communication mine fields of their male counterparts; no wonder why everyone of these ladies comes out the tip looking jaded. Bleu is named for my sister’s favorite color, who’s birthday inspired my decision to spend the day creating the first iteration of this piece. The source image gave me Rhianna vibes, which seeing as she’s my absolute favorite, is why I saved her in the first place. It was really fun to easter egg a portion of myself into this piece.
